The German exchange slumped owing to M. Poincare’s declaration and closed at 5850 marks. THE STOCK MARKET. Auckland, Last Night., Prices at Westfield to-day were: f Beef—Very heavy yardings and prices easier; extra choice 23s per 100 lb, choice and prime 18s to 20s, plain and unfinished 14s to 17s: young cow and heifer, choice prime 20s, prime 16s to 18s, unfinished 12s to 15s. Calves—Sold readily, only a few good vealers being yarded; runners £3 10s, good venters 38s to £2 10s. Sheep—A small yarding met a very brisk sale at an advance on last week’s rate; no extra heavy wethers were yarded; prime heavy wethers 345, medium prime 28s to 61s 6d, light fat 24s 6d to 27s 6d. plain and unfinished £1 Is to S3s 6d; very few ewes were yarded and no heavy prime; medium prime 255, others £1 to £1 4s. ' Lambs—Small yarding and prices better; heavy hoggets 27s 6d, medium 24s 6d to 25s 6d, others £1 to 245. Pigs—Good yarding and prices about the same; stores slightly easier; heavj’ baconers £3 to £3 10s, medium baconers £2 15s to £3; porkers £2 10s to £3, others 35s to 455, stores and slips 235; weaners, good ’ 18s, others 10s to 15s.
