Work on the Kaikoura is proceeding steadily, the unloading of her English cargo and the loading of frozen meat for Home continuing at the same time. JOHN WITH CARGO. The steamer John arrived at New Ply-
mouth on her first trip in the recently extended service yesterday morning 1 with about 150 tons of general cargo from Lyttelton and Wellington and 1400 cases of benzine. The vessel sailed last night for Wellington en route to Tl-maru and Lyttelton. MAINDY LODGE EN ROUTE. The Maindy Lodge left Newcastle for New Plymouth on Monday afternoon with 3300 tons of coal for this port, where she is due : about next Sunday. KAITUNA DISCHARGING. The Kaituna was berthed yesterday morning and commenced to discharge her 1500 tons of Newcastle coal, and, on present indications, will be able to sail for Terupuru, near Whangarel, to-morrow. I KAMO THIS MORNING. The Kamo left Wellington at 4.15 yesterday afternoon for New Plymouth, where she is due about 9 or 10 o’clock this morning with southern cargo. OVERSEAS MOVEMENTS.
