Wellington, Last Night. The following Government forecast was issued at 4 p.ni. to-day: “Present indications are for westerly to southerly winds, strong to gale, northwards of Kawhia and East Cape, and southerlies elsewhere. Cold and squally conditions generally, with heavy showers in many parts and snow on the high country of the South Island. The barometer is unsteady, but is rising everywhere shortly.”
