A 29 inch Vacuum Pump -FORMILKING MACHINES. A VACUUM PUMP that Effects a Saving of 35 per cent in Power is worth considering. Thia pump has been carefully tested against pumps of other makers, the test being made with a Watt meter for a ]Jl?riod of three hours, and snowed that our pump took .713 H.P. per hour, and other makes 1.1 H.P. per hour. These tests have been verified under working conditions on a farm milking one hundred and seventy cows, resulting in a saving of 35 per cent, in the benzine consumption, which alone would soon pay the cost of installing this pump. The simplicity of this pump and the absence of the ordinary valves that are liable to break and cause stoppages is at once apparent. The pump can bp run efficiently at varying speeds, and when running at 75 revolutions per minute is capable of maintaining the required vacuum for a six-cow plant. At the same number of revolutions a vacuum of twenty-nine inches is obtained pumping out of a closed tank, thus showing the pump '* to be most efficient as well as economical.
