New Zealand La mb .—August 19: Best quality, lightweight, lid, 11 >4d': medium. 10%d, lid; heavywc'clK.. lOd; ordinary, 10 5-8 d; second-class quality. 10*4d, 10 5-Sd. New Zealand Beef.—August 19 : Ox hinds 4%d, fores 3d. Chilled Beef.—August 19: Hinds 7%d, fores 3%d. BUTTER. Good demand throughout week, and prices have advanced. Present quotations are:— New Zealand.—Unsalted: August 19, 220 s to 224 s per cwt. (is ll%d to 2s per lb) ; August 12, 206 s per cwt. (Is lOd per lb.). Salted: August 19, 2G6s, 208 s up to 210 s per cwt. (Is lOd, Is 10%d to is per lb.). CHEESE. Market steadier and prices have advanced. Official quotations are : New Zealand.—August. 19: Colored, 84s to SGs per cwt. (9d to 914 d per lb.) ; white, 90s to 92s per cwt. (9%d to lOd per lb.). WOOL. This is Bradford holiday week, hence business is very quiet. Values for fine tops are nominally maintained. Present quotations are: 64’s (merino) 4s 8d; 56’s (super halfbred) 2s 7d; 40's (coarse crossbred) prepared Is l%d. So" uncertainty is caused by the political situation and commercial position of Germany.
