BOXING.
TARANAKI ASSOCIATION. The committee of the Taranaki Boxing Association met last night, Mr. E. .lackson presiding. The match committee reported that a professional 15 three-minute round contest had been arranged between Charlie Cann, of Wanganui. and J. Whittome, of Auckland, for Saturday night, September 2, race night. Five special amateur bouts will be staged. Mr. Frank Burns, of Auckland, will referee. The house manager r«n>orted that the seating arrangements will be the same as for the last tournament. Patrons will therefore have a splendid view. Hearty votes of thanks were accorded Messrs. R. Barlow, A. E. Horne, W. Graham, F Faber, E. Whittle and E. Heel, who kindly donated the. medals for the amateur events at the last tournament. It was decided that, the prices for the forthcoming tournament be : Ringside 12s Gd, 8s and 5s (free of tax) ; school boys and jaoya under 10 2? 9d; ladies free.
