REPARATIONS.
dispelling difficulties. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Paris, August 19. The Berlin correspondent of The Matin states that Sir John Bradbury’s mission is regarded as an indication that the Reparations Commission is seeking a means for dispelling the difficulties which delay its decision and has caused optimism. As conversations are to be conducted between the commission and the German Cabinet it is not believed in German official circles that M. Poincare desires a policy of force and it is doubted if the Ruhr occupation will be carried out. The threats of sanctions are being regarded as methods of diplomatic coercion and a political manoeuvre. The exchange on Berlin opened at 5625 and recovered to 5450. Paris, August 20. M. Poincare, when unveiling the War Memorial at Triaucourt, Lorraine, tsaid: “You who suffered so much from the relentless enqmy’ s invasion naturally cannot understand that there should exist anywhere in the world people blind enough to advise us to allow the authors of these outrages to go unpunished or to abandon the indemnities Germany owes our martyred families. We shall know bow to insist on Germany repairing the damage done.” Received Aug. S2, 1.5 a.m. Berlin, August 20. Sir John Bradbury and M. have arrived. It is popularly believed they will again attempt to induce the Government to shut down note printing.
