The Vienna correspondent of the Daily Mail reports the diabolical murder of a woman known as the ‘"Merry Widow” of Graz, which was revealed by the arrest of five people, including a wealthy timber merchant named Steiner. The “Marry Widow” was separated from her husband and traded privately in furs and jewellery. She was invited to tea at Steiner’s flat and a cord was thrown round her neck. She was strangled and her body was cut up and mummified, the head, hands, feet and trunk being found in different parcels. The murder was the result of a plot to enable the participants to divide the property in the flat. A previous atfailed.
