Bacon Factory 20 :: Kaimata 31 v. Fire Brigade 19; Kaimiro 24 v. Bristol Road 19. The fourth match will be played nn Monday night, for which the drawing is: Fire Brigade r. Bacon Factory. Bristol Road v. Foresters, Kaimata v. Bowlers. Kaimiro v. Druids.

Mr. A. B. Gamlin, one of Inglewood’s bestknown citizens, returned on Thursday evening’s mail after a fortnight’s trip to the South Island, and his impressions of the outing are decidedly interesting. He noticed, when going down, that, beyond the bush belt, right to Wellington, the country looked brown and bare, the willows leafless and wintry. On arrival at Christchurch he was surprised to see the willows bursting into bud and looking green, but still more surprised, on the return journey, to note the ctyinge that had taken place in a fortnight between Wellington and Tarai naki—from winter to quite a spring-like appearance. While in Canterbury Mr. Gamlin : travelled a good deal over the country round (Kaiapol, etc., and says he was particularly 'truck with the inferior quality of the dairy ,iu/d other cattle that h« saw. Taranaki, he considers, is far ahead in that. line. The farmers .he met were all very much interested in anything relating io the farming life in Taranaki, ."And he quite expects to see a numoer of them up this -way in the near future, to have a look at wltßt is being dune here and how w» carry .on. .
