FEDERAL ELECTION HINTED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Aug. 21, 1.5 am. Melbourne, Aug. 20. Speaking at Bendigo, Mr. W. M. Hughes said the Government would not lower the wages of sugar workers in order to reduce the price of sugar. He referred to the obstruction the Government experienced, and said if it was unable to carry out its programme it would go to the country.
