GUN CLUB SHOOT. b .« August IS. A shoot was held by the Stratford Gun Club on Messrs. Nelson and Green’a property on the East Road yesterdayr when among other competitions the Ballistite Cup was shot for, for the second time. Four competitions will be held for this cup, the best three scores to count for the winner’s name to be placed on the cup. The best score in the competition yesterday was put up by H. Harrison, of Eltham, who gained the possible (12 birds), using the second ‘ barrel only twice. The detailed scores of the competi-: tions are:— Ballistite Cup, 12 birds-—H. Harrison (19 yards), 12, 1; A. Nelson (IS 11, 2; W. P. Jenkins (15 yards), 10, 3. Also shot: F. Whittle (20 yards) 9, B. Green (17 yards) 9, S. D. Coleman (18 yards) 0. Sweep, 12 birds—H. Harrison (201 yards) and W. P. Jenkins (14 yards}* 10 each, A. Nelson (18 yards) 8, Whittle (19 yards) and B. Green (IH yards) 6 each, S. D. Coleman (17 yards)! ' A BOWLERS’ EVENING, 'At the invitation of the Sj>ratfor3? Bowling Club, the members of the twai bowfing dubs in Stratford held a car® eyeriing at the Central tea-rooms lasfaj night. Mr. G. Smart, president of thef Stratford Club, extended a welcome the Avon players, expressing the hope that the -evening would be the forerun** ner of others of a similar nature dur* ing the recess in bowling. At the conclusion of the card matches* refreshments were served. Mr. J. Masters, president of the Avon! Club, expressed the visitors’ apprecia* tion of the hospitality extended by thd Stratford Club.
