WAITARA.
(From Our Own Correspondent.) The Tikorangi Rowing Club, who have wound up their affairs, have agreed to, sell their lease to the Clifton Rowing) Club. This will double the frontage to the river and to West Qunjj ’ thus opening up the way for future extension to their hall property. As this is the only hall in Waitara suitable for dancing, it is hoped that they will he able to acquire the Tikorangi Club's lease with a view to enlarging their present premises, which a| the present time are very limited. o,wing to the winding up of the Tikorangi Rowing Club the Tikorangi cemetery is benefiting to the extent of nearly £lOO. Some of the Tikorangi farmers who wish to improve their ensilage have written to the Department of Agriculture asking for instructions. The department has promised to send a man along.
Aliss Marion Knight, who recently returned from Rarotonga, where she has been teaching, has been appointed sixth, assistant at the Waitara school. Aliss P. Hutchinson, who was temporary teacher, goes to Uruti.
Air. H. N. Wolfe, postman at Waitara, has been transferred to Awak'ir as exchange clerk. Air. W. Bird has been promoted from messenger to po-t--man in his place.
