- LONG LIST OF CHARGES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington. August 17. John Wesley Allott pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court and was-re-manded for sentence on nineteen charges of false pretences. Accused advertised for a salesman at £5 a week, plus expenses, to travel with goods for the non-existent firm of Saxon and Co., and demanding a bond of £lO, of which £l must accompany the application. Letters came from all parts of the Dominion. Accused wrote to himself from Christchurch authorising him to collect Saxon’s letters, nineteen of which contained £l. He was arrested as he was about to return to Waihi, where he nvas previously employed as a grocer’s assistant.
