August 14. According to a Chicago memage the Golf Association has ruled Willie Hunter, former British amateur champion, as ineligible to compete in amateur tournaments. It is claimed that British Associations make him a professional. A REPORT CONTRADICTED. New York, August 15. The statement that Willie Hunter had been barred from competing in amateur tournaments was incorrect. The mistake arose because another Willie Hunter, cousin of the former British champion, entered in the professional match. NEWS OF KIRKWOOD. . Received Aug. 16, 8.5 p.m. New York, Aug. 15.
