IRISH AFFAIRS.

DISORDER AMONG REBELS. FLIGHT TO THE HILLS. GREAT DESTRUCTION. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received August 17, 1.10 a.m. London, August 10. The Irish rebel army is in a state of dissolution. In all directions there is a general movement to leave the towns for the hilly, inaccessible country, where they are forming roving bands, living by plunder. An enormous amount of damage is being done, and the recovery of the community is severely handicapped through the wholesale destruction of roads and railway bridges. It is generally believed Dublin was the objective of the rebels, who seized Dundalk and other points in County Louth. The swoop was undoubtedly intended as a diversion from the southerly operations. The Dundalk rebels attempted to shoot down an aeroplane,' failing by a narrow margin. BEATING THE REBELS. SUCCESS OF FREE STATE TROOPS. Received Aug. 16, 9 P m - London, Aug. 15. The success of the re.-als in North Ireland is likely to be short-lived, shey ar? already falling back before the advance of Free State reinforcements, which afe concentrating on Drogheda, and a battle there is imminent. Several m re southern towns have been taken by Free Staters, who have surrounded the main body of the rebels in County Cork.
