Dr. Reakes, Director of Agriculture, will arrive in New Plymouth this morning. Mr. J. S. Connett was last night reelected chairman of the Bell Block Dairy Company. Mr. J. Marx was yesterday re-elected chairman of the Mangatoki Dairy Co. for the twenty-second year in succession, having held that position since the inception of the company. At the meeting of the Taranaki Hospital Board yesterday a resolution of sympathy was passed with the chairman, Mr. M. Fraser, in his illness and hopes were expressed for his speedy recovery The names of Misses Dulcie D. Moore (King George V. Sanatorium, Rotorua). Jessie K. McKenzie (Greytown) and Esma H. Colby (Onehunga) have been placed on the probationers’ list at the New Plymouth Hospital. The Rev. Father Saunderson (Pahiatua) who is suffering from lethargic encephalitis, has made such good progress within the last week that it is hoped he will be able shortly to move to, a convalescent home to recuperate. News has been received in Eltham of the death at Cambridge of Mrs. Pring, relict of the late Mr. P. J. Pring, the cause of death being pneumonia. The late. Mr. and Mrs. Pring Were for a number of years residents of Eltham.

News has been received by cablegram of the death in London of Mrs. A- A. Edwards, widow of the late Hon. Nathaniel Edwards, founder of the firm of N. Edwards and Co. (now J. H. Cock and Co.) and of the Anchor Shipping Line and. Foundry Co., Ltd. The Dean of Nelson (Dr. G. E. Weeks) has been offered, and has accepted, the headmastership of Trinity Grammar School, Sydney. Trinity is a secondary school belonging to the Anglican Church in Sydney, with a staff of ten masters, and drawing pupils from places so distant as Samoa, Fiji and Java. Dr. Weeks will begin his new duties early in 1923.
