CROSS-COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. ’ Masterton, Last Night. The Wellington provincial cross-country amateur championship was run here on Saturday, five clubs competing. The weather was fine and the going fast. The distance was five miles, the course of 2% miles being run twice. The championship was won by the Olympic Harriers, of Wellington, captained by H. Moore, and comprising W. J. Scratcnard, C. Campbell and K. Griffen. The next in order were Brooklyn, Wellington Scottish (all of Wellington), and Masterton Harriers. R. A. Rose (Masterton) won the individual championship in Bimin.. 2sec.. D. Todd (Brooklyn) being 100 yards away. Moore, holder of the 100 yards, was further back. This is the fourth time that Todd has been runnerup, in addition to once in the New Zealand championship.
