WASHINGTON TREATIES.
RATIFIED BY THE EMPIRE. By Telegraph.- -Press Assn.—Copy right. London. August 10. The ratification of the Washington treaties by the British Empire has been completed’. They have been ratified by the Dominion Parliaments, signed by His Majesty, and an endorsed copy is being dispatched to Washington, where it will be exchanged for the United States ratification. JAPAN READY TO RATIFY Received Aug. 11, 10.5 p.m. Tokio, August 10. As soon as the Washington Treaties’ ratifications are exchanged between Britain, the United States and Japan, the latter will begin scrapping warships. An Admiralty official explains that Japan must await action by the other two Powers, but she will not be influenced by France’s or Italy’s actions should they fail to ratify the Naval Treaty.—Aus.-N.Z.
