RISING IN LISBON.
OFFICIALS SHELTER IN FORTRESS. «By Telegraph.—Press Assn. —Copyright. Received August 10, 5.5 p.m. London, August 9. The Daily Mail states a serious situation has arisen »at Lisbon in consequence of a general strike against an increase in the price of bread. Practically all work has stopped and disorders are feared. Banks and public buildings are guarded by troops and martial law has been declared. The Government has moved to a fortress and is holding large forces in readiness for any emergency.—United Service.
