GRADING OF APPLES. By Telegraph.-—Press Association. Wellington, August 10. A deputation from the Nelson Fruit Council asked the Minister of Agriculture for the compulsory standardisation of apples, wlfch would give the public confidence and protection against unscrupulous dealers. Nelson growers were prepared to pay a halfpenny each case to meet the cost of extra inspection for grafting. The Minister promised to consider the request. He was anxious to give the industry all the support he could, but there was always the question of finance to be considered.
