The most serious Federal political crisis of the session has arisen over the sugar question. soon as the House of Representatives met to-day, Mr. Charlton gave notice of motion that the Government be severely censured for referring the sugar transactions to the Public Accounts Committee before disnosing of certain amendments which had been moved, and thereby delaying decision on the question of immediately reducing the price bf sugar. Mr. Earle Page then moved: “That, in view of the failure of the Government to supply information regarding its dealings in sugar, as promised for the 9th inst., to enable the House to determine the proper reduction in the price of sugar, the Government no longer holds the confidence of the House. The House adjourned till Friday. There was no consultation between the 'Country and Labor Parties prior to launching the motions.
