PREFERENCE TO UNIONISTS.
MOVE TO ABOLISH RIGHT. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. Employers in the freezing industry have applied to the Arbitration Court to delete the preference clause in the Canterbury freezing award. The reasons given for the application are that the workers have failed to observe the provisions of the award by striking. The application is made under the clause in which the Court reserves power to delete or vary the preference clause.
