Better, Allen, Wooldridge, Oliver. Burd. Emergencies: Hogarth, Bensley. Scrimgeour. McMahon. DISQUALIFIED FOR LIFE. Wellington, August 1. Regarding the disqualification for life on H. McDonald, L. Buckman and J. Young (all of Shannon) for assaulting a referee, imposed by the Horowbenua Rugby Union, the matter came before the New Zealand Union to-night. A letter from Horowhenua stated that the men had warned off all grounds under the jurisdictionof the Horowhenua Union. The New Zealand Union was asked to make It applicable to all grounds in the Dominion. The Shannon ground had also been suspended, but after a deputation from Shao non, headed by the Mayor, had been heard, it was decided to lift the disqualification off the ground. The Union decided to give the disqualification Dominion application. AUCKLAND LEAGUE COACH. Auckland, Last NighL The terms on which L. Cubitt has accepted an appointment as Rugby League coach were received by mail to-day. After consideration a special committee of the League decided that the terms were unsatisfactory, and the gppnfnt ment of a coach was deferred till next season.
