NEWTON KING, LTD., REPORT. At Urenui on July 24 a good offering of sheep was fully cleared at late rates. Store cattle were in small supply, but all sold. The yarding of dairy cattle was disappointing for quality, but good enquiry accounted for a satisfactory sale. Hoggets 16s, 2 and 4-toeth ewes in lamb 21s, 6 and S-tooth do 20s Bd, forward wethers 19s 2d, yearling heifers 365, Jersey do £5, fresh conditioned cows £2 to £2 12s 6(1, backward in-calf heifers £3 ss, springing do £7, springing cows £9 to £l4, poorer classes £5 to £6, cows in profit £7 10s to £l2. At .Stratford on 25th inst., there was a very fair yarding of store cattle, most of which sold. Weaner heifers made up the bulk of the entry and those showing Jersey created the usual keen interest. Tn the dairy pens a heavy entry was submitted, and though the bulk sold prices were a shade easier. Lambs Ils 3d, store cows 15s to 20s, forward do 36s to £2 4s, 20-month steers £2, 4-year-old bullocks £4 ss, yearling heifers 28s 6d to £2, Jersey do £4 5s to £5 6s, empty heifers £4 10s to £5 17s 6d, springing heifers £6 5s to £8 10s, springing cows £8 to £lO 10s, backward do £6 to £7 10s. At Inglewood on July 26 all classes came forward In full supply and firm values were maintained throughout. A very good sale is reported In the dairy section. Mixed age ewes 18s 6d to 20s, hoggets 15s 6d, store cows 15s 6d to 27s Gd, fat do £3 10s, 3-year-old steers £2 10s, yearling heifers 21s to 36s 6d, choicer quality do £2 12s to £3 7s, Jersey do £4 12s to £6 2s, springing heifers £5 5s to £7 10s, better sorts £8 to £lO, springing cows £ll to £l3, inferior do £0 10s to £7 10s. At Rahotu on 27th inst., a moderate yarding was fully cleared. Store cows 20s to 22s 6d, 20-month steers 255, 2%-year-old do £2 13s, forward do £& 6s, yearling heifers 25s to £2 4s 6d, heifer calved £5 15s, springing Holstein heifers £9 10s. We have conducted the following clearing sales and report on account of Mr. E. Davis, Durham Road, on 24th ult., sundries and implements unade good values, gelding £l6 10s, whilst the small herd of 22 cows made up to £l3. At our Inglewood yards on the following day 38 cows on account of Messrs. Herlihy and Butler were well sold, the bulk selling from £7 0s to £lO 10s. On the same day on account of Messrs. Jans Bros., Pembroke Road, the herd of 27 cows made the satisfactory average of £B, in-calf heifers realised to £6 15s, yearling heifers 30s, light draught gelding £l7 10s. At Junction Road, on 31st ult., good Jersey cows sold up to £l6, Jersey cross to £l4, Friesian do to £l3, 2-year Jersey springing heifers to £l2, Friesian do to £B.
