(From Our Own Correspondent.) The rainfall for July at. Inglewood, as observed by Mr. F. H. Brown, was 3.72 inches. Rain was recorded on 5 days, one of which showed a total of 1.7 inches, the others all bging below the inch. As compared with other years it is interesting to note that the average for the last 13 years previous to 1922 k 10.52 inches, and that last year '10.65 inchea of rain were recorded, and rain fell on 17 days. All Inglewood settlers who take a live interest in the political welfare of th? direct producing section of the community should be careful to attend the meeting of such inhabitants of this district. which is advertised to be held in the Parish Hall on Saturday next at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. Mr. Buckeridge, the popular exponent of farmers’ needs, will address this meeting. x There was a very full attendance at Newton King. Ltd.’s mart sale on Saturday. Calves, the beginners of the season, sold at from 4s to 255, heifers being in demand. Pigs made from 16s to 25s for small slips and up to 36s for older and better quality pigs. Brood sows sold at from £2 to £6 10s. In all over 60 pigs were marketed. Hens made from Is Gd to 3s 9d for ordinary, while a. choice lot made up to 7s 3d. and a hen and brood of chickens realised 16s 6d.
