THyard, Malfroy, Wogan, Trapski, Udy, Mahoney, Gibson ; forwards—Standen, Scott. J. Shearer, Moffitt, Thomas. Duncan, Pringle, Troy, Mcßae, E. King, Gair, Hopkins, Ryan and Swain. WATERSIDERS AT PLAY. The New Plymouth Watersiders played the Wanganui Watersiders at Wanganui on Saturday, New Plymouth winning by 17 points io 3. SOUTHERN FOURTHS. It is understood that the Kaponga fourths did not make the trip «o Hawera on Saturday to meet Patea fourths, as the Kaponga Chib were under the impression that the latter had forfeited. THE DEAN CUP. On Saturday afternoon the annual contest for the Dean Cup took place at Strathmore. The cup was presented by Mrs. Dean, of Whanga momona, in 1906, for competition between the Toko, Strathmore and Whanga Clubs. Toko was the first team to win the cup, and Strathmore challenged in the same year and won It. Whanga in turn challenged Strathmore, and they gained possession and held it for four years. Then Strathmore regained it and held It ever since. On Saturday Toko were the challengers, but lost the game
