MELEE IN THE STREET.
AN ATTACK BY HOODLUMS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland. Last Night. A gang of hoodlums interfered with a standing motor car. in which was a lady, on Saturday night. On two male friends of the lady arriving on the scene a melee ensued, one of them being seriously assaulted with a hottie carried by one of the rough’. A newspaper reporter also went to the assistance of the party and he was rendered almost unconscious by a heavy blow from another bottle.
