In the final of the ladies’ open golf championship of France, played at Dieppe, Miss Hastin beat Mrs. Cavin, by 5 and 4. She took only one putt on seven consecutive games, NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. A flag match (automatic draw) will be played on the Waiwakaiho links to-day. This is a variation of the ordinary medal match. Flags (marked A for seniors and B for juniors) will be taken out by the first pairs. The players play on till they have exhausted their strokes, namely, medal handicap plus bogie of 79 and then leave the flag where their last shot comes to rest. Later players who have not already exhausted their strokes then carry the flag on as far as possible, leaving it in the same way.
