A Rugby match, Auckland representatives versus North Auckland, was played this afternoon, and a closely contested game ensued, Auckland winning by 8 points to 6. At halftime the score was 3 all by means of an unconverted try obtained by each side. In the second spell North Auckland added another try, which was unconverted. Subsequently Auckland put on a try, with the major points attfded. In the last couple of minutes North Auckland had a chance of winning, being awarded a penalty kick right in front of the goal, and the shot went very close. HAWKE’S BAY TEAM. Napier, July 27.
