WEDDING

CHRISTIE—THOMSON. 4. pretty wedding was celebrated on Wednesday, July 12, at the Presbyterian Church, ’ Hawera, when Mr. Laurence Christie, of Edendale, son of Mrs. and the late Mr. D. L. Christie, Taieri, was married to Miss Helen Muir, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Thomson, Argyle Street. The Rev. H. B. Gray was the officiating clergyman and Miss G. Barker presided at the organ. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked very dainty in a frock of ivory crepe de chine and georgette, beautifully embroidered with pearls. A silk embroidered veil was worn with the usual orange blossoms, and a bouquet of spring flowers and maidenhair fern, finished with white ribbon and tulle, completed a pretty toilette. Miss Marion Thomson, who attended her sister as bridesmaid, wore a pretty frock of kingfisher crepe de chine and black and gold hat, and carried a pretty bouquet of lemon and white flowers. The bridegroom was attended by his cousin, Mr. C. F. Allan, of Hatuma, Hawke’s Bay, as best man. After the ceremony a reception was held at the residence of the parents of the bride. Later the bride and bridegroom left for the north on their honeymoon, the bride travelling in a smart navy costume and sapphire blue ribbon hat. —Star.
