The parade was in charge of Major Bell, DJS.O., general staff officer of the Central Command, with headquarters at Palmerston North, other officers present being Lieut.-Col. E. P. Cox, officer commanding the 4th Battalion (W.1.R.), Captain D. E. Bremner. M.C., staff officer in command of No. 8 R.D., and Lieutenants L. W. Andrew. V.C., and A. Smith, of New Plymouth.

The route followed was via Gill Street to Hobson Street, thence along Hobson, Lemon, Liardet anu Devon Streets to Queen Street, where the parade halted for five minutes, proceeding then via St. Aubyn and Gill Streets back to the Coronation Ha l. Aftei the parade had been dismis?ed t he newlyformed Community Club provided light refreshments, etc., for tin trainees, a nominal charge Wag
