LOCAL BODY LOANS.
NO GOVERNMENT GUARANTEE By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. In laying on the table of the House this afternoon a table relating to sinking funds, Mr. Massey declared the Government could not guarantee further local body loans without endangering | Dominion finance. He understood there i was nothing to prevent local bodies joining, for the purpose of raising loans, but if there was difficulty he was prepared to consider the matter with a view to introducing legislation to remove the difficulties.
