Middlesex, 323 (Dales 112 and Hendren 137) defeated Hampshire, where the total for the two innings was only 133. Stevens, in the first innings, took eight wickets for 38 runs. Haig, in the second innings, took five wickets for 15 and Durston five for 18. ENGLISH TEAM FOR SOUTH AFRICA. Received July 25, 9.30 p.m. London, July 24. The Marylebone Cricket Club has invited Mann, G. T. S. Stevens, Jupp, Carr, Fender, A. E. R. Gilligan, Livesy, MacAuley, F. E. Woolley, Mead, Kennedy and Hobbs to tour South Africa. Hobbs declined.
