BESTOWAL OF HONORS.
- ROYAL COMMISSION TO INVESTIGATE. By Telegraph.—Press Assn—Copyright. London, July 20. Mr. Lloyd George, replying to questions in the House of Commons, said immediate steps were being taken to inquire into the bestowal of honors. He proposed to discuss with the party leaders the personnel of the Royal Commission to undertake the inquiry. SOME CHARGES WITHDRAWN. London, July 21. Tn a personal statement in the House of Commons, Mr. McNeill said he could not subscribe to the doctrine that a member of the House, who conceived it his duty, when he believes he is exposing abuses, to mention the names of individuals inside the House, was under an obligation to waive Parliamentary privilege and invite litigation to test the accuracy of his statements. Mr. McNeill unreservedly withdrew the charges against Lord Forres, but said Lord Waring’s case was different, and he had nothing to withdraw.
