ROUND MOUNTAIN ROAD RACE. MEETING OF COMMITTEE A meeting of the committee of the Taranaki Circular Road Race was held at N<w Plymouth on Saturday night, whe:i Mr C. R. Fairbrother presided over a good attendance of members. It was reported that splendid support had been received towards the prize-list, £5O cash having been donated by the Cycle and Motor Supplies Co., Ltd., whilst E. D. Bennett and Co. (Wanganui). Hope, Gibbons, Ltd. (Wellington), A. G. Healing and Co. (Christchurch), Inglis Bros. Co., Ltd. (Wellington), E. Reynolds and Co.. Ltd. (Wellington), had donated bicycles valued at £l5 15s: tyres by Adams, Ltd. (Christchurch) and Nonpareil Motor Co. (Wellington) ; gold medal by Dunlop Rubber Co., Ltd. ; while J. Bennett also promised a gold medal for the fastest Taranaki rider. It was stated that the Southbridge road race would be run on September 23 and the Chrlst-church-Tlmaru race on September 30. It was also reported that the MelbourneWarrnambool road race had been reinstated, and would be run on October 14, the same date as the Taranaki .race. It was decided 'that it was too'late to alter the date of the Taranaki meeting. An executive committee was set up, comprising the president (Mr. E. Whittle), vicepresidents (Messrs. J. M'Leod and W. C. Weston), and Messrs. A. George, O. George, C. Fairbrother, H. Townsiey, P. Douglas, /G. Mclsaacs, and J. Bennett. It was also resolved to recoinmend the execative to put on a short road race just prior to the round-the-mountain event.
