SENSATIONAL HOLD-UP.
PAYMASTER FIRED AT. By Telegraph-—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 20, 11.15 p.m. Sydney, July 20. A sensational hold-up of a silo construction paymaster was attempted between Ariah Park and Mirrool. Paymaster Leifferman, accompanied by Inspector Skinner, was carrying £3OOO pay for the silo workers at Ariah Park, Mirrool, and Kama* rah. When nearinc Mirrool a charge of shot was fired at. their car from behind a tree, wounding the inspector in the face. The paymaster presented a revolver in the direction from which the shot came, and he saw a man running through the trees. Both occupants of the car, taking no risks, seized the money and took refuge in a near-by farmhouse. Two arrests have been made.
