Major Blake landed at Bushire at 9.40 on Monday and in Bandar Abbas at 4.50 on Tuesday. He is proceeding to Chahbar. Received July 19, 5.5 p.m. London, July 18. A message from Major Blake from Bundara Abbas states that he reached there after an eventful flight down the Persian Gulf. The machine acquired many new mascots at Basra, every inch of it being now covered with signatures. He adds: “The flight from Buslrire became a race against the sun. and though the machine attained 120 miles an hour in the last two hours, darkness forced us to descend at Bostaneh, in the level sand. We spent the night in the open, suffering greatly from the heat and lack of water. “Before daylight we started again and arrived here before the sun was up. We had to have the radiator lengthened, as the engine was nearly boiling. The temperature at Basra on Sunday was 115 in the shade, but the heat is less intense here.”—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
