DAILY NEWS AGENCY. Advertisements and items of news for publication in the Taranaki Daily News should be left at the office of our local representatative, Mr. W. H. Humphrey, Broadway, Stratford. Orders for papers may also be left with him. A very successful Scottish evening was held in the Parish Hall on Thursday, under the auspices of the Taranaki Provincial Scottish Society. While it was. intended that the entertainment should be only on a small scale, preliminary to one on a larger scale later in the year, the hall was crowded and the enthusiasm evinced bids fair to make the coming event a memorable one. Country subscribers not receiving their Daily News regularly are asked to immediately notify our circulation manager, care Mr. W. H. Humphrey, Stratford. Complaints will receive prompt attention. At W. H. Humphrey’s, Broadway: School pads, 150 pages, good paper, ruled, 1/- each; exercise books, 50 pages 4d, 100 pages Gd, 120. pages 7d: writing tablets from 6d to 1/9 (cream laid or linen faced). Large assortment of traced, goods, d’oyleys, tray cloths, centres, play aprons, feeders, camisoles, dressing jackets, nightdresses, etc., all at reasonable prices at Mrs. Humphrey’s fancy needlework depot.
