The sheepowners of the Wellington district have cited the Wellington Shearers’ Union for an Arbitration Court award and a conference is being | held to-day before the Conciliation Com- | missioner. The sheepowners offer £1 i per 100 Jor sheep and 17s 6d for lambs. I The union is ’’ing £1 10s for both ’ sheep and lambs. The owner* propose C2 10s for wool pressers, the union 'wants £5 10s; for other shed hands the i owners offer £2 5s and the union claims £4. The sheepowners want a 48 hour week, the union 44. hours. The employers suggest that there should be no discrimination in employing men. but the union wants preference to union-
