DEATH OF FOOTBALLER.
FROM INJURIES WHILE PLAYING, By Telegraph.—Press Association. Hamilton, Last Night. While playing football on Saturday, E. Smallwood, aged 15, was tackled and fell to the ground. He resumed playing and was again tackled. As he was seen to be ill, he was taken to the dressing shed and attended by two doctors. He died twenty minutes later, of concussion of the brain and contusion of the chest. All matches were abandoned. Deceased was the son of Mr. Sidney Smallwood, plumbing foreman on the railway at Frankton.
