The “BK.” Book Depot. New Plymouth, forward the under-mentioned magazines for review: "My Magazine,” the instructive and educational magazine for our younger people, is gaining new friends each issue. After a glance through the current issue (May) one does nut wonder at its increasing popularity. From coyer to cover the contents are of absorbing interest, covering articles on "The Life of Dante,” ‘’Animals in the Grip of Fear,” • The Pathway of the Wireless Wave,” and others. The illustrations include 100 pictures in photogravure of citizens of the animal kingdom, several pages of pictures of heroes of the world, while there are several pages, many in color, devoted to the very tiny folk. "The Red Magazine,” May 26, contains a long complete story by E. Norman Torry, ‘‘The Acid Test.” Fred M. White is represented by a complete story “The Lure of the Printed Word,” Edmund continues his series “The Amazing Aaventurer,” and among other cont i th..vors are Ralph Durand, Leslie Beresford and Owen OlHver. “The Red Magazine,” which is illustrated, is an all fiction magazine and is a delightful companion these winter evenings. ‘The Captain” for June, the magazine for boys (and old boys), contains a spe-. cial cricket article by J. W. H. Douglas. “'How to Improve your Cricket,” and a chat with A. White. Britain’s most successful cyclist, who imparts some useful hints to readers.
