NO PROGRESS.
DEADLOCK AT HAGUE. RUSSIA DROPPED. OTHER PROBLEMS FACED. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received July 14, 5.5 p.m. London, July 13. The Daily Telegraph’s Hague correspondent says the Conference is at a standstill and it is extremely unlikely that the discussions with the Russians will be resumed. It is expected the energies of the Allied Powers will now be directed to a salution of the problem of Central Europe, hastening the recovery of the devastated areas there. The first sub-committee decided that, in view of the Russian statements at yesterday’s meeting, no useful purpose would be served by continuing the meetings with the Russian? and resolved to so report to the main committee. New York, July 13. The New York World says the collapse at The Hague is the final proof that the Soviet cannot obtain the financial help nf the world until it agrees to restore the foreign property they have confiscated. The attitude of the United States Government is thus practically sustained. To-day’s result means that Europe needs Russian grain less than the financier* need guarantees that Russia will repay her loans.
