WAITARA.

(From our Own Correspondent.) July 13. ■ There has been a big fresh in the fiver the last two days, bringing down a piantity of wood. There does not appear to have been a deluge of rain in flip back country and it is thought that the mildness of the weather has brought the snow from the mountain. On Tuesday Mr. Tom Rattenbury met with a bad accident. He was crosscutting a log on’ the beach, and a big wave (Which he did not notice) came up and shifted the log he was sawing and jambing his leg against the wheel of his dray. It is thought the leg is broken.
