NEWTON KING, LTD., REPORT. At Douglas on July 3, a small yarding sold at late rates: 20-inonth steers 31s, 2%-year-old steers £2 Bs, yearling heifers 31s, Jersey heifers £3 13s to £3 14s 6d, store cows 255, forward cows 355. At Stoney River on 4ih Inst., the demand was sufficient to clear la fair yarding. A good even line of fi-tooth Romney ewes attracted much attention, changing hands at 32s 2d, yearling heifers 295, Jersey heifers £4 7s, empty Jersey heifers £8 10s. yearling steers 20s, forward cows 255, light fat cows £2 4s to £3, springing cows £9 to £l3 15s, choice Jersey cows £lB 10s. At Wiaiwakaiho on July 6 quotations were: Yearling heifers 19s to £2 ss, empty heifers £4, forward cows £1 17s to £2, light fat bullock £4 2s 6d. springing heifers £8 5s to £ll. springing cows £6 15s to £7 10s. 1 We have conducted the following clearing sales and report : At Tataraimaka on July 3, on account of Mr. A. Anderson, the herd of 60 cows were well sold, averaging £ll 8s Gd. most of the cows selling from £l2 to £l9, aged perigree Jersey bull 18% guineas, light farm horses £l5 to £22. At Uruti on the following day on account of Mr. W. Douds, a fair attendance of buyers accounted for a satisfactory clearance. Quite a number of the cows were very backward calvers, but nevertheless sold well. Best cows realised £lO to £l6, yearling heifers £2 Is, in-calf heifers £3 10s to £7 ss, 5-year-old draught gelding £32, aged light draught mares £l6 to £2O, 7-year half draught gelding £l7. At Mahoe on the 7th inst., on account of Messrs. McLeod Bros., the herd of 30 cows made the satisfactory average of £l2 Gs. Implements and sundries sold particularly well. At Leppterton on the 4th Inst., on account of Mr. F. Keenan, everything sold very well. The cows, which showed a fair amount of age. were readily disposed of, the top price cow .maikng £26 10s. Most of the herd sold from £lO to £l7 10s.
