COOK V. JONES. By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright. London, July 10. In a boxing match Cook defeated Joi»6s on points. OTAGO TEAM. Dunedin. July 11. The team selected for Otago in the South Island boxing championship on July 25 and 26 is as - follows: —Flyweight, T. Griffiths; bantam, H. McMillan; feather, R. r ilcher; lightweight, L. McDonald; welter, T. Harris; middle, H. North. Mr. McQuarrie has been appointed manager and Mr J. Kllmartin referee at the tournament, Taranaki association. The committee of the Taranaki Boxing Association met last night. Present: Messrs. E. Jackson (chairman), M. Stagpoole, C. Grainger, W. Yardley, G. Richards, N. B. Howell, R. Paul, XV. Graham, W. N. Stephenson, J. Garcia, G. E. Jago. and C. H Wynyard (secretary). The matching committee reported that matters were well in train for the matching of the professionals at the tournament to be held on August 12. The following amateur bouts have been arranged for the next tournament: L. McGuire (Auroa) v. P. Webber (New Plymouth) ; G. McMillan (Awakino) v. Cleary (New Plymouth) : Miller (Midhirst) v. E. Webber (New Plymouth) ; Collins (Stratford) v. D. Childs (Stratford) ; R. Dudding (Stratford) v. Anderson (New Plymouth). It was decided that the prices of admission should be 21s (ringside), 10s and ss, pupils of secondary and technical schools 2s 6d; all plus tax. It was resolved to forward a letter of appreciation to the Manawatu Association for the courtesy extended to a member of the association while attending the North Island championship meeting.
