ADDINGTON STOCK MARKET. LARGE YARDINGS AND EASIER PRICES. Christchurch. July 5. At the Addington market to-day there wer^'large-yardings of all classes of stock, and, e?x>cept in the ease of store sheep, an easing in prices. Store Sheep.—An increased entry. Both ewes and hoggets sold more freely than at the last two sales, and only a small proportion of the entry was passed. Forward wethei’ hogget- made 15s 9d to IGs Id. wether hoggets 13s lid to 14s 4d. good mixed sex 14s 5d to 15s 6d. cull halfbred wether hoggets 12s. fair half bred ewe 19s-. three-quar-ter-bred ewes IGs fid to 17s sd. good halfbred 4 and 6-tooth wethers 20s. 4, G, and 8-tooth 18s 3d. sound and failing mouthed 15s Gd. 4-tooth balfbred ewes in lamb 25s 3d, 4. G, and 8-tooth halfbred ewes in lamb 21s 3d to 22s lOd, sound-mouthed 20s lOd to 25s Gd. good, sound, ' and failing-mouthed 18s Gd to 21s fid. aged 9s 2d to 3s fid. Fat Lambs. —I'l6£» were penned, but 400 odd were very inferior sorts, and lacking competition were relegated to the store pens. The balance of SOO were bought by freezing companies and butchers at from 7%d to 7V>d per lb. Extra prime lambs made 25s Gd to 34s Gd. prime 22s to 255, medium 18s 3d to 21s Gd, inferior 14s 7d to 18s.

Fat Sheep. —A big yarding of eleven races, principally of good mutton. The market opened easier, and receded as it progressed, but recovered remarkably towards the end. Taken all round, values were Is Gd lower than last week. Extra prime wethers made 28s Gd to 26s 3d, prime 23s fid to 27s Gd, medium 20s to 23s Gd, inferior 18s to Ifis fid. Extra prime ewes 30s 3d, prime 20s 3d to 245, medium 15s 3d to 20s. inferior 12s fid to 15s, old ewes Ils to 12s 3d. Fat Cattle.—4l2 were penned, compared with 255 last week. The bulk was good beef. The market was easier by 20s to 25s per head, although it firmed again at the finish. Extra prime steers made £l6 15s, prime £ll 5s to £l4, medium £S 2s Gd to £ll, light and inferior £fi to £B. extra prime heifers Cll, prime £G 17s Gd to £S 10s, ordinary £5 to £G 15s, light £3 10s to £4 15s. Extra prime cows £l9 liss, prime £6 to £8 ss, ordinary £4 5s to £5 17s 6d.

Vealers. —The demand was good and late rates were maintained. Runners £4 15s, good vealers £3i 5s to £4 4s, medium £2 5s to £3 10s small calves 8s upwards.

Dairy Cattle.—Good dairy cows, just calved or on the point of calving, realised satisfactory prices. Good third ealvers made £l5 10s, good second ealvers £l4. good cows. in milk £ll, medium springing cows £5 to £6 ss, good springing heifers £G 10s to £O. Store, Cattle.—There was fair competition for good stuff, but inferior was hard to quit. Good two-year heifers £G 10s, medium springing heifers £4 10s. old springing cows £2 2s. Threeyear steers £3 13s Gd to £4 10s Gd, two-year £2 IGs to £3 10s. Fat Pigs.—Pork was in over-supply,

and prices were lower than for some time. Choppers made £2 10s to £6 9s, light baconers £3 10s to £3 15s, heavy £4 to £4 10s, extra heavy £4 19s (average price per lb fid to 6.U1). light porkers £2 2s to £2 10s, heavy £2 15s to £3 2s (average price per jb :%d to »y,d).
