FIRES.
A LARGE HOUSE DESTROYED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Napier, Last Night. A 20-roomed residence occupied by John Hindmarsh, at Greenmeadows, was totally destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. The origin of the outbreak is a mystery, the occupants of the house being asleep at the time- The Napier brigade was summoned, and they were able to eave the adjoining building. The building was a very old wooden one. and burned rapidly, very little being saved. The insurances are unknown, but the lose is estimated at several thousand pounds.
