The House of Commons read a second time the British Nationality and Status of Aliens Bill, under which British children born abroad become British, provided their birth is registered at a British consulate and the child duly declares its nationality on attainment of its majority. Mr. Shortt intimated that the Dominions had assented to the Bill and would introduce the requisite legislation.
