A WANDERING INFANT.
DROWNED IN pRAIN. A MILE FROM HOME. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. The infant daughter, 2 years old, thei youngest of a family of three, of Mr, and Mrs- A. Sullivan, of Limbrick Street, Terrace End, wandered away from home at ten o’clock on Friday morning. The father searched vainly in the neighborhood and acquainted the police, who joined with private parties in the search all day. At night, intimations of the occurrence were flashed on the screen at the picture shows, and an exhaustive search was continued on Saturday. In the afternoon, the child’s body was found in a six foot drain in a paddock a mile from home. The drain contained seven inches of water, and the mediea) evidence is that the child was drowned. Itj is surmised the child fell into the deathtrap on Friday.
