The appearance iu court of Edward Bryce was the culmination of one of.the grandest detective stories, with the probable recovery before the week-end of £360,600 worth of loot. Last October seven masked men robbed a mail truck of £400.000. 'Detective Gordon McCarthy led the pursuit and found his quarry in a high social position. Bryce and his two partners, Heins and were captured while leaning against their Rolls-Royce car. Bonds wortli £20,000 were found, in Bryce’s trunk in his magnificent apartments, while £lOO,OOO was dug up from the foot of a tree on Long Island indicated by Bryce.
